MEET OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM

Before joining Sunningdale in 2001, John
worked with the Ottawa Hunt and Country Club for
ten years, and the London Hunt and Country Club
for seven years. He is well known and respected in London and throughout the Canadian golfing community. In addition to his golf club experience, John has worked in management at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa and the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal. He is currently immediate past President
of the Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM).

"I am very impressed at how Sunningdale has committed the time, people and financing over
such an incredibly short time period to not only
make major renovations and improvements to both 18 hole courses, but complete construction on what is one of the most elegant Clubhouses in this part of Ontario.  With course renovations and the new clubhouse now complete, golf at Sunningdale will truly become one of the most pleasurable private club experiences around."

A distinguished member of the Canadian Professional Golfers' Association, Patty brings to Sunningdale more than twenty-seven years of experience in many facets of the golfing industry. Patty began her career as a tour player on the Women's Professional Golf Tour in California and Florida. This led to her association in the years that followed as a Golf Professional with a number of golf clubs in Ontario, several of which are within the London area. Most recently, Patty ran a very successful golf school here in London, providing instruction to an extensive following of golfers.  In 2001, Patty was the recipient of the Women of Distinction Award for Sport, Fitness, and Recreation.

As Director of Golf, Patty Howard oversees the full scope of golf play at Sunningdale and is a most welcome addition to the growing success story that is the new Sunningdale.

Tim Webb knows his way around Sunningdale's two championship 18-hole golf courses: he's been working at Sunningdale for the past 17 years. He also brings a lot of expert knowledge to his role: he has an Ontario Diploma of Horticulture, has studied Turf Management at the University of Guelph and is an active member of the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association.

Tim has been directly involved in all major improvements to the course, including new tee decks, a computerized irrigation system, and renovation of bunkers and practice facilities. "This is going to greatly improve our turf quality and the playability and aesthetics of the course," says Tim. "We've always had great potential - now we've taken a big step to become one of the finest courses in Ontario."

Alfred doesn’t like using recipes. He believes that passion and fun are the key ingredients in any successful dish.

Since age 15, Alfred has worked in the kitchens of many major hotel chains, including CP Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, Westin Hotels, Holiday Inns, and the London Hilton. He also worked at the London Club and the London Hunt and Country Club. Recently, he helped London restaurateur Mike Smith open Chancey Smith’s, an upscale steakhouse in the new Covent Garden Market. Alfred has also competed in a number of national culinary competitions as a member of several teams, including the Holiday Inn. In all, he collected several gold, silver and bronze medals.

Alfred’s vision for dining and catering menus is “simple but elegant” – a phrase that also describes the feeling of the new clubhouse. “We don’t want to be a stuffy place,” he says. “We want people to come out, have a good time, have great food and really feel at home.”

Jason has a passion for the golf business, and is excited about his new role as Head Professional.
