Junior Golf Programs

At Sunningdale, we are committed to providing a fun and meaningful skill development program for younger members.  They are the young women and men who will continue the Sunningdale tradition in the future.  From those just learning, to those with aspirations of a professional career, Sunningdale has a program that fits.

Lessons by Sunningdale Professional Staff are for Members of the Sunningdale Golf & Country Club only.

 

Junior Lessons: (Private one-half hour - price per student)

Junior Camp
offers children 7 to 11 years of age a fun opportunity to learn the basics of playing the game and proper etiquette.  This season's camp is limited to 70 participants and is held from Tues July 1st to Friday July 4th.
$110 per Junior

Pre-Junior Introduction to Golf Program is for golfers from 4 to 7 years of age and runs on Sundays in July for 4 sessions (July 6, 13, 20, 27) from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.  There is no charge for this program, but there is a limited number of participants that can be accepted at this age (20).  Please contact the Golf Shop for more details or to sign up.

The Junior Beginner Program provides an opportunity for Juniors from 8 to 12 years of age to expand on the basics of playing the game of golf and proper etiquette.  Scheduled on six pre-set Mondays throughout the season - Sundays: July 6, 13, 20, 27 August 3, 10, 17, 24.   Instruction will be from 3:15pm to 4:00pm, followed by a few holes of golf. 
$125 per Junior

The Junior Intermediate Program is designed to appeal to those ages 13 to 16 years old with a more focused instruction from the professional staff.  It is also an ideal opportunity to golf with peers and develop friendships for future games.  Session are scheduled for 6 pre-set Mondays throughout the season - Saturdays: July 12, 19, 26 August 2, 9, 16, 23.  Instruction is from 2:30pm to 3:15pm, followed by 9 holes of golf.
$125 per Junior

The Girls Only Program is for Junior Girls aged 12 to 16 who would like to learn to play golf or improve their skills in a comfortable, relaxed non-intimidating environment.  Scheduled for 6 pre-set Mondays throughout the season - Saturdays: July 12, 19, 26 August 2, 9, 16, 23.  Instruction will be from 2:30pm to 3:15pm, followed by 9 holes of golf.
$125 per Junior

Our Junior Advanced Coaching Program includes specialized professional instruction for those juniors of any age who show and interest and talent for golf and are competing on local and regional tours.  Instruction and coaching by our professional staff will focus on how to lower their handicap, increase performance, and learn better course management.  Scheduled for nine pre-set Saturdays throughout the season - June 21, 28 July 5, 12, 19, 26 August 2, 9, 16, 23 from 1:00-2:00 pm, with golf to follow.
$160 per Junior

The Sunningdale Junior Recognition Program  This program allows Sunningdale junior members who show exceptional proficiency in golf and a mature attitude, to golf in times outside the normal junior restrictions.  Weekday restrictions would be waived completely, and weekend golf could begin at 11am.  Check with the Golf Shop for the criteria to qualify.

The Sunningdale Bantam Recognition Program  A Sunningdale Bantam is a member under the age of 14.  This program is for those bantam members who show a keen interest in golf and have a mature attitude towards the game.  Recipients of this recognition will be allowed to golf at Sunningdale during the regular Junior hours but will not need a parent or adult present in the group.  Check with the Golf Shop for the criteria to qualify and the lesson schedule.

The Sunningdale Golf Bursary Award Program is intended to encourage and support those young golfers who show a talent for golf.  The bursary will be awarded each year to two deserving young members between the ages of 14 and 25.  The bursary award is valued at $1,000 and consists of $500 in Golf Shop credits and $500 in cash.  Application for 2008 should be made before July 15, 2008. Check with the Golf Shop for the criteria to qualify.
