In
2002,
Gordon Thompson, President, John Adams,
General Manager, and the Board of Directors of Sunningdale were pleased to
announce the appointment of Patty Howard to the position of Director of
Golf.
A distinguished member of the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association,
Patty brings to Sunningdale more than thirty years of experience in
many facets of the golfing industry. Patty began her career as a tour
player on the Women’s Professional Golf Tour in California and Florida. This led to her association in the years that followed as a Golf
Professional with a number of golf clubs in Ontario, several of which are
within the London area. Most recently, Patty ran a very successful golf
school here in London, providing instruction to an extensive following of
golfers.
In 2007, Patty was the recipient of the Club
Professional of the Year award by both the Ontario Professional
Golfer's Association (PGA) and the nation-wide Canadian Professional Golfer's Association
(CPGA).
A graduate in Physical Education from Western, Patty has achieved
recognition over the years in a number of ways. To cite a few, she was the
first female Head Professional at a private club in Canada. In 1988, she
won the Ontario Ladies Professional Championship shooting a women's course
record of 73 at The National. In 2001, Patty was the recipient of the
Women of Distinction Award for Sport, Fitness, and Recreation.
Patty joins an experienced team of Golf Professionals at Sunningdale dedicated to serving the Sunningdale
golfing community.

at Sunningdale and is a most welcome addition to the growing success story
