2026/2027 Academy Dates and Times

15 weeks, beginning Tuesday, November 17th, 2026 and ending Saturday March 13th, 2027 (with a Christmas season break from Dec 19th to Jan 3rd). All Academy memberships (except the November-December Program) are for the full season, with no time restrictions.

Our Academy Teaching Team

		Keegan Knight Associate Professional Since joining Sunningdale Golf and Country Club in 2016, Keegan Knight has become a valued member of the professional staff, known for his dedication to player development and passion for teaching the game. A Class “A” Professional with the PGA of Canada since 2018, Keegan combines technical expertise with an approachable, player-centered philosophy. Recognized as the Runner-Up for the PGA of Ontario’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2024, Keegan has built a reputation for his ability to connect with golfers of all ages and skill levels—ensuring that every student receives the same level of attention, care, and commitment to progress. Beyond golf, Keegan brings an extensive multi-sport coaching background, having coached hockey, volleyball, and badminton, and serving as a high-level skating instructor since 2018. This diverse athletic foundation enhances his understanding of movement, athletic development, and performance—skills he seamlessly integrates into his golf instruction. Keegan’s well-rounded experience and passion for coaching make him a trusted professional dedicated to helping each player reach their full potential.
		Jeff Ward Associate Professional Jeff Ward is an Associate Golf Professional at Sunningdale. Jeff recently completed his 25th year as a member of the PGA of Canada. Prior to joining Sunningdale's staff in 2021, Jeff was the Head Professional at Brooks Golf Club in Brooks, Alberta. Jeff passed his Class A Exam in November 2001. During the winter season, Jeff also enjoys curling and following the Ottawa Senators.

		Bryant Lung Associate Golf Professional I am excited for the new opportunities and challenges presented through my transition to Sunningdale Golf and Country Club. My focus has always been individual-specific service with a teaching style to match, as there is more than one way to create a solution and move the ball! I love our business as well as the unique relationships and friendships that are built. I am truly looking forward to meeting everyone and developing myself within the team alongside the diverse membership in 2025! 		Todd Barlow Associate Professional Todd, a Member of the PGA of Canada, achieved his Class A designation in 2010. His professional journey includes notable positions at Mad River Golf Club in Creemore and Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island, SC. With a wealth of experience, Todd has honed his coaching skills across diverse player levels, from novice to elite, under the mentorship of PGA of Canada Hall of Famer, Sam Young, at Shelburne Golf & C.C. Additionally, he contributed his expertise as a coach at the Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
		Isabella Portokalis Assistant Professional I’m Isabella Portokalis and I’m a former division one golfer. I recently graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a degree in Communications. I'm very excited for the upcoming season at Sunningdale and working towards joining the PGA of Canada.

Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancellations must be received prior to November 17th, 2026. Cancellations after November 18th and before December 19th will be subject to a $50.00 administration fee and prorated for the weeks attended. Refunds will not be given to cancellations received after December 19th, 2026.

Dress Code
Proper Sunningdale golf attire is requested.

What is the Winter Golf Academy?

Your Professional Staff at Sunningdale have come up with a unique way to incorporate teaching and training over the winter months, on-site here at Sunningdale. The program includes:

An indoor practice area with 5 hitting spaces (mats)
Ability to reserve mat times daily up to 8 days in advance
Apple iPads for Video Swing Analysis by on- site staff
Full use of all training aids
Separate Putting Area with its own training aids
On-going swing guidance and coaching with your Teaching Professionals

How does it work?

Members book mat time (at 45 minute intervals) by using our online MatRez system or by calling the Academy. A Teaching Professional is always on hand to give you guidance during your booked time. Walk-ins will be accommodated if space allows.

All the training aids and Professional Instruction are available each time you visit. We can review your video swing analysis at the Academy, or we can also email your analysis to you!

Flightscope Mevo +:

ALL HITTING BAYS will be equipped with the Flightscope Mevo +. This device measures the following: Ball Speed, Club Speed, Smash Factor, Carry, Total, and Roll Distance, Launch Angle, Height Apex, Spin Rate, Loft, and Axis, Launch Direction, Shot Type, Shot Dispersion
The Mevo+ also comes with 6 Playable Golf Courses including Bayhill, The Belfry, Aviara, Stone Canyon, Sanctuary, and Wade Hampton.

Computerized Video Swing Analysis:

We can display your golf swing in real-time video on an iPad or iPhone, in slow motion, frame by frame, comparison or overlay, to easily identify areas that require improvement. Studies have shown we all learn best through visual feedback and teaching aids.

Interested in viewing your swing video at home? We can email your analysis video to you!

200 sq.ft. Synthetic Putting Green:

Our custom putting area allows you to work on your putting stroke with your professional staff, with the ability to attach additional training aids such as the Putting Arc Trainer.
